Plettenberg Bay is home to a thriving seal colony at Robberg Nature Reserve, where hundreds of Cape fur seals gather along the rocky shores. This time of year is particularly special as it’s pupping season, meaning adorable seal pups are beginning to make their first curious splashes in the water. Watching these playful little ones interact with the rest of the colony is truly heartwarming.
Our team had the chance to jump in and swim alongside these agile and inquisitive creatures. Seals are known as the “puppies of the sea,” and they certainly live up to that reputation! From spinning and diving to darting curiously around us, they made the whole experience unforgettable.
